Our Research

All of our athletes are committed to achieve their very best, with a strong motivation to succeed in their varsity, college and national team careers. As an organization, we will continue to find new opportunities to support them. Learning, scientific research and development is a core part of our DNA, and 7D Athletics is at the forefront of applying research and development in youth athlete performance and team sports optimization.

Dr. Peter Olausson PhD

Our Science and Technology program is under the direction of Dr. Peter Olausson, who is a Cognitive Systems researcher and former Yale University Neuroscientist. Peter was an elite athlete in his youth, and selected to the Swedish National Team between 1992-2000. He ended his athletic career after competing in the 2000 ISU World Championships. He knows the value of utilizing new insights and tools to gain a competitive advantage in elite sports.

Our research is currently focused on 4 inter-connected areas that utilizes a combination of human factors and data observations to create opportunities for enhanced athletic growth and performance, both for our athletes as individuals and in teams.

Current Research Projects

Predicting Performance

Goal
We identify composite signals from a combination of measures and behaviors that predict in-game performance, individually and as a team. We will use these signals to support our athletes to perform at the peak while reducing the impact of negative events.
